At the end of April, the well-known sports commentator Per Forsberg from Sweden visited Tartu and the WOC 2017 competition arenas around South-Estonia. WOC 2017 organizers and Per Forsberg have agreed already a long time ago that the English-speaking voice to be heard on the arenas is Per's.
Per's experience is much appreciated by the organizers both as the voice that builds excitement on the competition day, but also as an expert in arena planning. After the visit, Per commented himself like this:
"I'm very proud to be a member of the crew for WOC 2017 in Tartu, Estonia. It will be my 9th WOC as the English-speaking commentator. It is always a joy to be a part of this orienteering party. After visiting all the arenas which will be used during WOC 2017 in Estonia I can promise all competitors, coaches and fans it will be a great week of exciting orienteering competitions. I always want to create a great atmosphere at the arena together with all the fans and to be able to do that we need tight and exciting races, we do also need the stars in the world of orienteering and finally, it would be nice if any Estonian runner could surprise on home soil."
